Trekking "Traversata dell'Isola d'Elba - GTE"

The island of Elba, a green oasis that emerges from the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, is the largest of the seven major islands that make up the Tuscan Archipelago and the third largest in Italy. It is the largest remaining portion of the ancient stretch of land that connected the Italian peninsula to Corsica. Its territory, very varied and populated by numerous species of flora and fauna, is divided into several parts according to the conformation and the geological era in which it was formed and, also for these reasons, is protected and enhanced by the National Park of 'Tuscan Archipelago, whose headquarters are located in Portoferraio, the largest center of the island. The wild nature and the little frequented places, ancient and rich in history, which characterize this wonderful trekking in the Mediterranean scrub, strongly contrast with the crowding of the coastal villages, stopping points of the planned days.

In addition to the wonderful 360 ° panorama that will accompany us throughout our journey, the route will also allow us to touch the summit of Monte Capanne, which with its 1019m asl is the highest peak of the island and of the entire Archipelago. .

Days Details:

1st day: from Cavo to Porto Azzurro (878mt difference in altitude +).

2nd day: from Porto Azzurro to Marina di Campo (859mt difference in altitude +).

3rd day: from Marina di Campo to Poggio (1120mt difference in altitude +).

4th Day: from Poggio to Pomonte (750mt difference in altitude +).

How to get there: Meeting at 4.30 am at the parking of the Hotel Cristal Palace (BG).

Or directly to the Port of Piombino at 8.00.
