Crete, Crete, Greece

Info sull'evento

Crete is among the main tourist destinations in Greece due to the numerous archaeological and naturalistic sites and the particular cultural heritage it possesses, expressed through linguistic, literary, musical and gastronomic specificities.

It is about 95 km from mainland Greece and constitutes the southern limit of the Aegean Sea and the northern one of the Libyan Sea. On all sides it is surrounded by a large number of smaller islands and islets, including Gozzo, the southernmost point of physical Europe.

Its name comes from the presence of a very large amount of clay (or clay, material with which the inhabitants built tools and vases). Its terrain is mostly mountainous and the plains make up a modest percentage of its territory. Among these, the most important is the Messarà plain, located in the central-southern area.

The coasts are generally very indented but there are profound differences between the northern and southern coasts. The former is more densely populated due to the coastal ranges that descend more gently towards the sea. The second, on the other hand, is mostly steep and steep and has a much drier climate and has always been sparsely populated.

We will walk among wild mountains that exceed 2000 meters of altitude, we will descend through natural canyons and we will arrive at the sea in small fishing villages where a crystalline sea will be waiting for us.

A truly unique journey through history, mountains and sea that will change the way we travel and see the island.
