Info sull'evento

The road of the 52 tunnels or (road of the first army) is a route of extraordinary historical and environmental interest, a military mule track built during the First World War on the Pasubio massif, climbing up the southern slope between daring spiers, deep ravines and steep rocky walls.

This is probably the most beautiful and exciting excursion in the Venetian Pre-Alps, considered a masterpiece of military engineering, it extends for 6300 meters of which 2300 are in the tunnel, starts at an altitude of 1216 meters above sea level and ends at 1928 meters above sea level for a vertical drop of 784 meters. Its construction began on January 29, 1917 with the dispatch of a first platoon of twenty men, with the melting of the snow and then, especially in the summer, six hundred men, it was used to supply the Pasubio front.

The road of the 52 tunnels has a changing and often breathtaking panorama, the view sweeps between the crest, precipices and pinnacles, up to the other mountain groups, but also to the gentle hillsides and the plain.
